报告摘要:
Present an overview of the current status and future opportunities of fuel cell and energy storage technologies for energy-efficient and pollution-free automobiles, future systems of renewable energy, and smart grids. Focus will be placed on highlighting R&D challenges needed to overcome for commercialization.

Dr. Chao-Yang Wang is a Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University, and a fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He has been the founding director of Penn State Electrochemical Engine Center (ECEC) since 1997. Dr. Wang has received NSF CAREER award in 1998, 2000年中国国家自然科学基金“杰出青年(外国), and premier research award from the Pennsylvania Engineering Society, and has been a senior technical advisor to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and a delegate to Indo-U.S. and US-Canada Fuel Cell Workshops. Dr. Wang is a frequent plenary/keynote speaker at national and international conferences as well as seminars at universities worldwide. He serves on the editorial board of several journals and book series. He holds 16 U.S. and international patents and has published ten book chapters and reviews as well as over 150 journal articles. Dr. Wang’s research interests cover the transport and materials aspects of batteries and fuel cells.
