报告内容摘要:
As any family of trajectories of any dynamic system can be treated as a signal set, the concept of signal set can be served as a unifying tool to characterize signals, trajectories of dynamic systems and their combinations. The main objective of this talk is to present the fundamentals of signal sets and their applications on stability properties, in particularly, the Persistent Excitation (PE). This talk will describe major components to characterize stability properties of signal sets (various dynamics systems and signals); show how to verify the PE conditions using novel concepts of PE pairs and M-pairs;build a link of the proposed M-pairs with well-known Krasovskii-LaSalle results and nested Matrosov results.

Dr. Ying Tan is an Associate Professor and Reader in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (DEEE) at The University of Melbourne, Australia. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Tianjin University, China, in 1995, and her PhD from the National University of Singapore in 2002. She joined McMaster University in 2002 as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Since 2004, she has been with the University of Melbourne. She was awarded an Australian Postdoctoral Fellow (2006–2008) and a Future Fellow (2009–2013) by the Australian Research Council. Her research interests are in intelligent systems, nonlinear control systems, real time optimisation, sampled-data distributed parameter systems and formation control.
