报告内容简介:
Stimulus responsive materials, being defined as a kind of materials, with the capability of sensing and actuating, are exposed to changing environmental conditions. In recent years, a wide range of novel stimulus responsive materials have been developed, such as shape memory polymer (SMP) and their composites. This presentation describes the synthesis and characterization of novel styrene-based, epoxy-based, cyanate ester-based, polycaprolactone-based, bismaleimide-based, polyurethane-based SMPs, and SMP composites (SMPCs) which are filled with nickel chains, short carbon fibers, carbon nanotube chains, carbon nanopapers and so on. Meanwhile, the SMP activation approaches that contain heat, electricity, light, magnetic field, microwave, water, and solvent approaches, have been introduced. An overview of the recent progress of SMPCs used in space deployable structures is also presented. Some constitutive models are established to describe the viscoelastic behaviors of SMP and post bucking behaviors of SMPCs. In addition, some other activities in our group including electroactive polymers multifunctional nanocomposites, carbon nanopaper and applications, structural health monitoring, will also be proposed in this talk.
