报告摘要:

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is routinely used in ophthalmology and increasingly is becoming widely adopted in cardiology. However, OCT suffers from a shallow penetration depth and limited image contrast in tissue. Our work has focused on addressing these limitations through the development of miniaturized multimodal fiber-optic probes that can be inserted deep into the body. Examples, such as endoscopic probes based on 3D printed lenses, multimodality intravascular imaging technologies and integrated OCT-fluorescence needle probes, will be showcased in this talk.

Jiawen Li is a lecturer at the University of Adelaide, Australia. She received her BS degree in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2010, and her PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of California Irvine in 2015. Her PhD work, at Prof. Zhongping Chen’s group, focused on developing integrated intravascular ultrasound – optical coherence tomography (OCT) systems and catheters for in vivo applications. In July 2015, she joined Prof. Robert McLaughlin’s group to work on OCT needle probes. She has co-authored 14 journal papers, 2 U.S. patents, and has in excess of 300 citations (h-index: 10). Her works were highlighted by the optical society (OSA), national institute of health (NIH), Science Daily and OCT News. She has been invited to contribute to a book chapter and two topical reviews, and has given 2 invited talks at prestigious conferences and 10 invited seminars in famous universities.
Her research interests include OCT needle probes, multimodality imaging, ultra-thin endoscopes, intravascular imaging and Doppler OCT.
