Multi-scale smart and soft materials for biomedical applications

报告内容摘要:

Stimuli-responsive smart and soft hydrogel materials are three-dimensionally crosslinked polymer networks, whose physicochemical properties could be self-regulatively tuned by responding to external stimuli such as temperature, pH, salt concentration, electric field, magnetic field, and chemicals and so on.  Such smart and soft materials have attracted much attention in recent years owing to their potentials in applications of biomedical fields, including stimuli-responsive drug delivery systems, smart sensors and switches, bioseparation, cell culture, and microrobots and so on.  The stimuli-response rate and practical applications of stimuli-responsive smart and soft hydrogel materials are heavily dependent on the scale of the material dimensions.  In this talk, new developments of multi-scale smart and soft hydrogel materials, including macro-scale, mini-scale, micro-scale and nano-scale hydrogel materials, will be introduced, and the effects of meso-scale connection and regulation of multi-scale structures on the performance of smart and soft materials will be discussed.

 

报告人简介:

褚良银,1995年于东北大学获博士学位,曾先后在日本东京大学、美国哈佛大学、法国巴黎高科-巴黎高等物理化澳门太阳娱乐网站官网和英国伯明翰大学从事研究工作,现任四川大学化学工程学院院长、教授。主要从事膜材料与膜过程、药物控释系统、传质与分离、微流控、生物材料等领域应用基础研究,迄今共在国内外重要学术期刊上发表论文300多篇,申请中国专利31项和国际专利8项,出版学术专著4部。研究工作受到国内外同行的广泛关注和重视,研究成果被Nature Materials、Chemistry World和 Materials Today等作为“研究亮点”专题报道,曾获省部级自然科学奖1项和省部级科技进步奖3项。入选教育部“奖励计划”特聘教授,国家杰出青年科学基金获得者,全国优秀博士学位论文指导教师,教育部“和创新团队发展计划”创新团队带头人,英国伯明翰大学名誉教授,英国皇家化学会会士(Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry)。
