A new stability result for discrete-time switched systems with application to consensus problems

In this talk, a novel result is presented to guarantee uniform global asymptotic stability of a class of switched linear time-invariant discrete-time systems. Then, it is applied to leaderless and leader-following consensus problems of discrete-time multi-agent systems under jointly connected switching network topology. Different from the continuous-time multi-agent systems under switching networks, where the magnitude of the dwell time of the switching signal is irrelevant, in the discrete-time case, this value is critical for consensus reaching. A tighter lower bound of the dwell time is given compared to those in the literature. Moreover, the controllability condition on the system matrix is relaxed to the stabilizability condition. Numerical examples are provided to verify the theoretical results.

Weiguo Xia received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in applied mathematics from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2006 and 2009, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Science and Engineering, ENTEG, University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands, in 2013. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Control Science and Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the ACCESS Linnaeus Centre, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. His current research interests include complex networks, social networks, and multiagent systems.
夏卫国,分别于2006年和2009年在东南大学数学系获得应用数学专业学士和硕士学位,2013年在荷兰格罗宁根大学科学与工程学院获得博士学位。2013年9月至2015年9月在瑞典皇家澳门太阳娱乐网站官网ACCESS Linnaeus中心从事博士后研究工作,现任大连理工大学控制科学与工程学院副教授。他的研究兴趣包括复杂网络,社会网络和多智能体系统。
