报告内容摘要
    With expertise in engineering, biology, and clinical medicine, our interdisciplinary laboratory is dedicated to developing and translating microsystems as novel research enabling platforms, diagnostics, and therapeutics for blood diseases. In this talk, I will discuss how cellular mechanical systems developed in our laboratory answer clinically relevant questions in the field of clinical hematology that were formerly technologically infeasible. By leveraging and developing microfluidic, atomic force microscopy, and protein micropatterning techniques, our group has made significant advances in understanding sickle cell disease, microangiopathies, and thrombosis. In addition to further technology development, we are also translating those microdevices and other systems developed in our laboratory as novel diagnostics for blood diseases in our pediatric hematology clinics and inpatient facilities.
