2013年C9-Go8博士生交流会（C9：中国九校；Go8：澳洲八校联盟）将于10月20日在上海召开，大会主题为“可持续健康未来（Sustainable Health Futures）”。请各院校研究生院协助推荐参会博士生。

会议时间：2013年10月20日-23日

会议地点：上海交通大学

资助：中国院校参会博士生的旅行与住宿等费用由派出院校资助，如博士生的导师参会，相关费用由派出院校资助。

选拔标准：

l  所在学科与“可持续健康未来（Sustainable Health Futures）”有关，鼓励跨学科研究；

l  优秀的学术和创新能力；

l  具有学术方面的领导潜质；

l  良好的英文交流能力。

选拔资格：学生必须为C9院校注册的在读博士生。

选拔程序：申请人须提交申请表、个人简历以及500字的论文摘要；大会建议相关文件为TIFF和PDF格式，或者微软OFFICE文件。不需提供纸质文件。

由各院校研究生院汇总本校申请人材料，汇总完毕后请统一发送至大会电子邮箱（janeliu@sjtu.edu.cn）。遴选委员会将于8月31日之前通知选拔结果。

可推荐人数：各院校可推荐2-4名候选人，由大会遴选委员会选拔确定2名参会。

可持续健康未来

    由高品质的研究而产生的认识上和技术上的提高共同改善着世界各国人民的健康状况。然而，随着人们寿命的增长和财富的增加，我们需要关注的健康问题在不断变化。与衰老有关的慢性疾病和肥胖症正越来越多地困扰着一些国家。而且，随着过去50年的惊人发展，一些问题愈发显现，诸如对曾经效果良好的抗生素抗性的持续性干预效果，现在却越来越表示出怀疑。此外，日益增长的世界人口和缓解全球运输问题越来越成为造成全球疾病大流行的可能性与潜在后果的原因。预防和治疗变得同等重要。这一切都发生在医疗费用和需求快速增长的时代，这就意味着，没有在认识上和实践上的重大进步，医疗在国家预算中所占的比例将会越来越大并最终变得不可持续。解决这些问题需要新的交叉学科和多学科的方法，以及对我们所说的健康和如何更好地工作以确保健康社会有一个更好的文化认识，这其中还包括更多地关注健康预防问题。

Sustainable Health Futures

Improvements in understanding and technique flowing from high quality research are together improving health outcomes for people around the world.  However, as a result of people living longer and our increasing affluence, the types of health problems that we need to address are changing.  Chronic diseases associated with ageing and obesity are forming a greater proportion of a nation’s disease burden.  Moreover, while the last 50 years have seen amazing developments, it is becoming increasingly apparent that issues such as antibiotic resistance are casting doubt on the continued effectiveness of interventions that worked well in the past, especially given a decreasing investment in areas such as antibiotic or vaccine production by pharmaceutical companies.  In addition, the increasing world population and the ease of global transport are causing concern about the possibility of global pandemics and their potential consequences.  Prevention is becoming as important as cure.  All this is happening at a time when the cost of health care and the demand for it are increasing at a rate that means without significant advances in understanding and practice, health care will account for a growing proportion of national budgets to the extent that it will become unsustainable.  Addressing these issues will require new cross and multi-disciplinary approaches, together with a better cultural understanding of what we mean by health and how we can work better to ensure healthy societies, including through a greater focus on preventive health.
